In 1924, Baron Philippe asks artist to design the label for Mouton, ahead of its time is not repeated. Since 1945, To celebrate the Allied victory and mark his return to his estates, Baron Philippe asks the artist Philippe Jullian to illustrate the Mouton Rothschild label: the [V] for Victory appears on the bottles, to universal acclaim. Then, original artwork specially created for Mouton by a contemporary artist every year.

In 2000, an exceptional departure from this tradition, Baroness Philippine has not commissioned a painter. Chosen The little AUGSBURG RAM (a chased silver-gilt drinking vessel created around 16th century by Jakob Schenauer, A German master goldsmith.) at Museum of wine at MOUTON.

In order to reproduce all the refinement and luster of the original work, the glass maker BSN came up with a new technique for enamel in relief, calling for custom-made tools and work of the utmost precision. The particularly complex method for firing the gold and enamel had produced a scintillating texture.

Deep color with a garnet hue, complex nose dominated by jammy fruit, prunes and intense roast coffee. Powerful and full bodied finish lingers long on the palate.
