Bordeaux's most famous property, especially in the Far East. Lafite has been on top form since the late 1970's, producing numerous outstanding vintages in the last 30 years. Wine making is overseen by Charles Chevallier.

In 1815, Mr. Lawton published an initial classification of Medoc wines in his brokerage house log. It was apparently an accurate assessment, Lafite was already at the top of the list: [ I ranked Lafite as the most elegant and delicate, with the finest fruit of the three leading wines] and [it's wines are the most superb in all of Medoc]

1989 Lafite is also outstanding, this medium ruby colored and medium-bodied wine reveals new oak in the nose and a spicy finish. It is a quintessentially elegant, restrained, understated style of Lafite
